Review the scope: sender cleanup can include archived mail and does not preserve a separate search’s age, category, unread, size or starred exclusions. Use native Gmail when those limits matter. The extension does not unsubscribe or empty Trash.

Why not just use Gmail?

Gmail can delete by sender on its own. The difference is finding who to delete, and doing dozens of senders in one pass.

Common questions

How do I bulk delete Gmail emails from one sender?

Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store, open the correct Gmail account in desktop Chrome and scan discovered senders. Select a sender only after reviewing its broader history, then review and confirm Move to Trash. Use native Gmail search when you need date, category or other restrictions.

Does Gmail have a built-in bulk delete option?

Yes. Search by sender or another reviewed condition, select the page and use the all-matching-conversations link if offered before using Trash. Gmail supports multiple sender addresses in an OR search. The extension helps discover and select senders; it does not guarantee a bypass of Gmail limits.

Is Inbox Cleaner safe to use?

The packaged extension reads rendered sender names, addresses and dates, stores scan results locally, and uses Gmail’s own controls. It has no OAuth flow or independent network client. Review the account, sender scope and confirmation before a destructive action. The separate legacy browser app uses Google OAuth and Gmail API; the privacy policy describes both.

Will deleted emails be gone forever?

The extension moves matching mail to Gmail Trash. Ordinary Trash is normally recoverable for up to 30 days unless permanently removed sooner. Emptying Trash or using Delete forever ends that normal recovery window.

How long does it take to scan my inbox?

A full extension scan can take minutes and depends on mailbox size, discovered senders and Gmail’s current interface. No measured completion-time guarantee is available.

Does this work on mobile?

The Chrome extension requires desktop Chrome and an already-open Gmail tab. This page also preserves a separate legacy browser app with a different OAuth data path; it is not mobile extension support.

How do I delete thousands of Gmail emails at once?

Choose and review the search or sender scope first. The extension processes selected sender queries in batches of up to 20. Counts are Gmail conversation/result counts, may be estimated or unresolved, and do not guarantee how many unique messages will move. Verify the result before another cleanup.

How do I free up Gmail storage fast?

Check Google’s storage breakdown first. Review large messages with a native size search rather than relying on sender counts. Trashed mail continues to use storage until permanently removed; quota totals can take time to update. The extension does not measure recovered capacity.

Can I delete all promotional emails in Gmail?

Use a reviewed category:promotions search in Gmail when you want a category-limited cleanup. The extension’s category badges help discover senders, but choosing a sender can also affect its non-promotional and archived mail.

How do I unsubscribe from emails in Gmail?

Use Gmail Manage subscriptions when available or the Unsubscribe control for a legitimate subscription. Deleting the backlog is a separate action. Inbox Cleaner does not unsubscribe senders.

What's the fastest way to reach Gmail inbox zero?

Archive useful completed conversations, retain active tasks, and move only reviewed disposable mail to Trash. The time needed depends on the inbox; a complete cleanup or speed advantage has not been benchmarked.

Does Inbox Cleaner work with Google Workspace?

It is designed for Gmail’s web interface, but Workspace administrator policies can restrict extensions or access. Follow your organization’s retention rules. Compatibility across every account and policy configuration has not been verified.
