How to Stop and Delete LinkedIn Connection Request Emails
To remove LinkedIn connection request emails, identify their actual sender, build a focused Gmail search and review the matching conversations before using Trash. Keep the task limited to the message type you intend to remove; a company or service name is not a safe deletion boundary.
Identify the correct messages
Use the sending address from a real connection-request message. The word invitation can also match events, groups or ordinary business correspondence, so open several results before selecting any batch.
- Open Gmail on a computer, confirm the account, and search
subject:"invitation" from:notifications@example.com. Replace any example sender with the address from a real message. - Review several results and any mixed conversations. Save records you need before selecting mail.
- Use the top checkbox to select the current page. If Gmail offers an all-matching-conversations notification, use its link only after checking that the search scope is correct. The page count depends on your settings.
- Choose the Trash icon and wait for Gmail’s confirmation. Rerun the search to inspect what remains; do not assume an unseen batch completed.
Records and exceptions to check
Decide which requests need a response in LinkedIn and preserve meaningful correspondence. Removing the Gmail notification is not the same as accepting, ignoring or withdrawing a connection request.
Check mixed conversations
Search can return a whole conversation when only some messages match. In particular, -is:starred does not guarantee protection for starred messages in a mixed thread. Open important conversations and handle individual messages when necessary.
Reduce new mail separately
Change connection-notification email preferences in LinkedIn if you want fewer messages. Do not disable every LinkedIn message merely to stop connection reminders.
Does sender cleanup fit this task?
Inbox Cleaner needs an open Gmail tab in desktop Chrome. Its sender-wide action can include archived mail and does not inherit date, category, size, unread or starred restrictions. For those limits, use native Gmail. Counts may be approximate and are not storage measurements. Read setup, permissions and recovery limits.
Review Trash separately
Gmail normally allows Trash recovery for up to 30 days unless permanently removed sooner. Archive and Trash still use storage. Review before Empty Trash or Delete forever; those actions end ordinary recovery.
Choose the next step
Clean up Gmail with the Chrome extension
Rank senders, select the ones you want to clear, and move their emails to Trash. Mail in Trash is normally recoverable for up to 30 days unless permanently removed sooner.
